“I should be a statistic”
Mark Goodman spent part of his teen years living homeless on the streets and beaches of Los Angeles. For him it was safer than the alternative: remaining in his childhood home with an alcoholic, abusive father. Mark and his brothers endured abuse so severe it led one of them to take his own life.
In this frank discussion Mark shares how he discovered forgiveness, embraced radical responsibility for his own life, and reconciled with his father. To see the generosity and bright light shining in Mark now, you would never know his remarkable journey. Fred and I are so grateful to him for sharing his story.
Mark Goodman
Mark Goodman is an author, speaker, and executive director of 70×7 Path to Forgiveness. His own story, surviving unspeakable abuse as a child and later homelessness on the streets of LA, led him to discover the transforming power of forgiveness, and with it, freedom from resentment and shame. For nearly a decade, Mark has drawn on a blend of psychology, personal experience, and hard-won wisdom to help hundreds of others find that same freedom: restored marriages, healed relationships, lives pulled back from the edge.
